چکیده
The Euclidean (φ)3, ǫ model in R 3 corresponds to a perturbation by a φ interaction of a Gaussian measure on scalar fields with a covariance depending on a real parameter ε in the range 0 ≤ ε ≤ 1. For ε = 1 one recovers the covariance of a massless scalar field in R. For ε = 0 φ is a marginal interaction. For 0 ≤ ε < 1 the covariance continues to be Osterwalder-Schrader and pointwise positive. After introducing cutoffs we prove that for ε > 0, sufficiently small, there exists a non-gaussian fixed point ( with one unstable direction) of the Renormalization Group iterations. These iterations converge to the fixed point on its stable (critical) manifold which is constructed. ∗ Partially supported by NSERC of Canada ∗∗ Laboratoire Associé au CNRS, UMR 5825 ∗∗∗ Partially supported by CNR, G.N.F.M. and MURST 1/febbraio/2008 [1] 0:1

Boundary critical behaviour at m-axial Lifshitz points: the special transition for the case of a surface plane parallel to the modulation axes
The critical behaviour of d-dimensional semi-infinite systems with n-component order parameter φ is studied at an m-axial bulk Lifshitz point whose wave-vector instability is isotropic in an m-dimensional subspace of R. Field-theoretic renormalization group methods are utilized to examine the special surface transition in the case where the m potential modulation axes, with 0 ≤ m ≤ d−1, are par...
متن کاملSurface critical behaviour at m-axial Lifshitz points: continuum models, boundary conditions and two-loop renormalization group results
The critical behaviour of semi-infinite d-dimensional systems with short-range interactions and an O(n) invariant Hamiltonian is investigated at an m-axial Lifshitz point with an isotropic wave-vector instability in an mdimensional subspace of R parallel to the surface. Continuum |φ| models representing the associated universality classes of surface critical behaviour are constructed. In the bo...
متن کاملCritical Casimir amplitudes for n-component φ models with O(n)-symmetry breaking quadratic boundary terms
Euclidean n-component φ theories whose Hamiltonians areO(n) symmetric except for quadratic symmetry breaking boundary terms are studied in the film geometry R×[0, L]. The boundary terms imply the Robin boundary conditions ∂nφα = c̊ (j) α φα at the boundary planes Bj=1 at z = 0 and Bj=2 at z = L. Particular attention is paid to the cases in which mj of the n variables c̊ (j) α associated with plan...
متن کاملQuenching 2D Quantum Gravity
We simulate the Ising model on a set of fixed random φ graphs, which corresponds to a quenched coupling to 2D gravity rather than the annealed coupling that is usually considered. We investigate the critical exponents in such a quenched ensemble and compare them with measurements on dynamical φ graphs, flat lattices and a single fixed φ graph. متن کاملTime-Variation of the Gravitational Constant and the Machian Solution in the Brans-Dicke Theory
The Machian cosmological solution satisfying φ = O(ρ/ω) for the perfect-fluid with negative pressure is discussed. When the coefficient of the equation of state γ → −1/3, the gravitational constant approaches to constant. If we assume the present mass density ρ0 ∼ ρc (critical density), the parameter ǫ (γ = (ǫ− 1)/3) has a value of order 10−3 to support the present gravitational constant. The c...
